When a shop shuts or a building becomes disused and the signage is left to rot, at first it looks a mess and then a few years pass and then how come the council aren’t doing anything about it bloody eyesore that it is. But leave the mess there for a generation or more and what’s left of a shopfront becomes almost archaeological, an unintended glimpse of what a place used to think it was.

Might have to do a little series on signage. Bad signs, good signs and what’s left of signs that want to sell me something a hundred years ago.
